Following two successful development readings we are now casting for 9 Asian
and White Manchester based actors for a high profile play in the Museum of
Manchester.
Rehearsals early January.
Production on 14th and 15th February 2018. Actors also happy to perform
short simple fun dance moves .

Seeking:
LOCAL SOUTH ASIAN AND CAUCASIAN ROLES: all ages from 18 to 50s.
The Director, Designer and Actors will be in rehearsal for 4 weeks.  The
play will  promenade through the stunning galleries of Manchester Museum on
Oxford Road for two nights: on Valentine’s Day 2018 (open to all) and a
Women’s Only Night on February 15th 2018 to create an inclusive and
supportive visit for women who may have been isolated from mainstream
entertainment by cultural or social issues.
The Museum, for generations of Mancunians, is our city’s most iconic and
well loved building. “Generations”
is  a Musical Rom-Com with themes of inclusivity and innovation which
reflect the character and history of our city.  “Generations” breaks new
ground in theatrical techniques using digital  3D live projection and
lighting techniques in association with the Manchester School of Art. The
Museum and supporters from the University of Manchester and community groups
are enabling us to stage the two nights free of charge through their
generous  in-kind donations (particularly from the Museum who are providing
the hire of the building, front house and security staff, sound and light
services and publicity and promotion pro bono as they are committed to the
aesthetics and social values of our project).

JEENA: Pakistani Asian Mancunian. Aged 25. Lead Female. Witty,
Sophisticated,
Loving. A Secondary School Teacher. Can Dance. Must be happy to learn short

SEBASTIAN: Caucasian Age 25. Lead Male. Mancunian,. A Junior Doctor engaged
to Jeena.
Kind and thoughtful, humorous. Can Dance. Must be happy to learn short
routines for cast performance.
AYESHA: British Pakistani – Born in UK, Early 40s – Lead Female Jeena’s
Mother.
Attractive Highly intelligent, sensitive, sharp sense of humour has her own
web business. Can Dance. Must be happy to learn short routines for cast
performance.
ZULFIKAR: Lead Male 40s born in Pakistan Very successful businessman,
Slightly
overweight, pompous but jokey, sentimental but caring , Married to Ayesha.
Can Dance. Must be happy to learn short routines for cast performance.
LISA: Age early 40s. Sebastian’s Mum –Caucasian, Mancunian Middle Class.
Former
University Lecturer. Can Dance. Must be happy to learn short routines for
cast performance.
IRFAN: Age 25. Pakistani Mancunian, calm, mature, religious but open minded
guy.
Can Dance. Must be happy to learn short routines for cast performance.
FAZ: Age 20. Pakistani Mancunian, Hip, a player. University Student. Can
Dance.
Must be happy to learn short routines for cast performance.
NEELAM: Playing Age 16 – Pakistani Mancunian Jeena’s Sister. College
Student.
Bright, energetic, grounded but fun. Sharply witty. Can Dance. Must be happy
to learn short routines for cast performance.
CHARLOTTE: Playing Age 16 Caucasian Mancunian. Neelam’s BFF. LOLs a lot!
Great sense of
humour. Supportive, caring. College student. Can Dance. Must be happy to
learn short routines for cast performance.
We would also welcome interest in Directing the production from female
Directors (with some experience) , preferably with a Pakistani or South
Asian background.
