Stephanie Carpanini, is an assistant producer at Channel 5 which is currently in
production of a two part mini-series about the transitional summer that
every sixteen year old in the UK experiences.

Shown through the eyes of teenagers, their parents, and where possible,
their teachers, the narrative will follow the lead up to a big, important
date – be it a School Prom, a Sixteenth Birthday Party or other event which
is cause for excitement.  Our intention is to follow a handful of
individuals as they plan and prepare for their big day – with a focus on the
invitations, outfits, entertainment and transportation – charting their
excitement for the party, whilst balancing the pressures of exams, friends,
parents and wider society.

We are also very mindful of our duty of care to any young person that
becomes involved in the film.  There are robust safeguarding provisions, as
dictated by Ofcom and broadcasting codes, where children’s welfare and
dignity must be at the absolute heart of all editorial decisions.

Following this, we are unable to pay people to take part in the series due
to Ofcom regulations, as this can be seen as bribery or seen as influencing
their performance on camera.  We are looking for 15 and 16 year olds who are
in year 11.
