Submissions are now invited for PFT`s 2017 winter musical: Singin` In The
Rain.

Please note that the role of Lina Lamont is already cast, so submissions for
this role are not required.

Submissions made in July for the roles of Don Lockwood, Cosmo Brown and
Kathy Seldon will continue to be considered. However, new submissions for
these three roles are also invited.

All rehearsals and performances will take place in Pitlochry. Please note
that a Sunday matinée performance is included in the schedule for 3 of the 4
performance weeks. A maximum of 8 performances per week have been scheduled.

Casting submissions for the following roles are now being accepted:

DON LOCKWOOD: Playing age 30 to 35, must be an excellent lyric baritone (G2 to Ab4) and
have outstanding dance skills (including tap). Charismatic, charming,
good-looking and witty star of the silver screen, the Gene Kelly role in the
film. Solo numbers: Singin` In The Rain and You Were Meant For Me.

KATHY SELDON: Playing age mid-20s, must be an excellent lyric mezzo (G3 to F5) and have
very good dance skills (including tap). Naïve, earnest young actress look
for her big break, the Debbie Reynolds role in the film. Solo numbers: All I
Do Is Dream Of You, Lucky Star and Would You.

COSMO BROWN: Playing age 30 to 35, must be a strong tenor (C3 to Ab4), have excellent
dance (including tap) and physical comedy skills – and be a top notch
pianist! Don Lockwood`s oldest friend, confidante, and all-round creative
genius, the Donald O`Connor role in the film. Solo number: Make `Em Laugh.

R. F. SIMPSON: Playing age 50 plus, baritone, but mostly spoken. The likeable, sometimes
irascible, studio boss at Monumental Pictures, who has made stars of Don
Lockwood and Lina Lamont and is keen to make the “talkies” the new money
spinner for the studio.

ROSCOE DEXTER: Playing age 40 plus, baritone, but mostly spoken. The demanding,
over-worked, highly-strung movie director at Monumental Pictures, who works
regularly with Lockwood & Lamont.

Female Ensemble 1

Playing age 30s to 40s, must be an excellent mezzo or soprano and have
excellent dance skills. Plays gushing radio personality Dora Bailey, d/w
various other roles

Female Ensemble 2

Playing age mid to late 20s, must be an excellent mezzo or soprano and have
excellent dance skills. Plays waspish movie starlet (and Lina`s best friend)
Zelda Zanders, d/w various other roles

Female Ensemble 3

Playing age 20s to 30s, must be an excellent mezzo or soprano and have
excellent dance skills. Plays the exotic movie vamp Olga Mara, d/w various
other roles

Female Ensemble 4

Playing age 20s, must be an excellent mezzo or soprano and have excellent
dance skills. Plays Mary Margaret, a cute Mary Pickford style starlet, plus
d/w various other roles

Male Ensemble 1

Playing age 20s to 30s, must be an excellent tenor or baritone and have
excellent dance skills. Plays a cowboy movie star and a stagehand at
Monumental Pictures, d/w various other roles.

Male Ensemble 2

Playing age 20s to 30s, must be an excellent tenor or baritone and have
excellent dance skills. Plays Zelda`s playboy escort and Roscoe`s 1st
Assistant Director, d/w various other roles.

Male Ensemble 3

Playing age 20s to 30s, must be an excellent tenor or baritone and have
excellent dance skills. Plays one half of the Flick & Flack act and Roscoe`s
2nd Assistant Director, d/w various other roles.

Male Ensemble 4

Playing age 40s to 50s, must be an excellent baritone or bass and have
strong dance skills. Plays Don`s vocal coach and R. F.`s butler, d/w various
other roles.

Male Ensemble 5

Playing age 25 to 35, must be an excellent tenor, baritone or bass and have
strong dance skills. Plays Rod, the over-excitable Publicity Manager at
Monumental Pictures, and movie director Sid Phillips, d/w various other
roles.

Male Ensemble 6

Playing age 25 to 35, must be an excellent high tenor (G#4 – C#3) and have
excellent dance skills. Plays the handsome lead tenor in Monumental
Pictures` first musical, d/w various other roles.
