Here’s a brief for a really great cause, highlighting the increase in modern
day slavery. Non profit organisation, A21 do some amazing stuff to raise
awareness of, and fight the perpetrators of human trafficking.
This campaign aims to focus on ‘forced labour’, there are 4 scenarios in
total. 2 will be stills and film campaigns, the other 2 just stills.
As with most charity jobs, the money is low – but please do consider what a
worthy cause this is and what fantastic work A21 do when suggesting. I would
really appreciate your ideas, and benevolence on this one.
HUMAN TRAFFICKING IS MODERN-DAY SLAVERY
It fuels the growth of organised crime; undermining health, safety,
security, and the basic needs of humanity. It is the fastest growing crime
in the world.
A21 is a non-profit organisation who aim is to end human trafficking in the
21st Century.
This campaign will run across the internet and on print at UK borders.
Predominantly, it is a stills campaign but 2 of the 4 scenarios will also be
shot as 30″ films.
Casting: Tuesday 16th August. Central London. 12pm – 6pm.
Shoot: 24th and/or 25th August.
Fee: £100 BSF per shoot day (possibly 2)
Stills usage £150 + Film usage £200. All UK media for 3 years.

However, the charity are keen for the film to go viral and want the freedom
for it to be used anywhere.

Taxi scenario
TRAFFICKED VICTIM: Girl, aged 16 to 20, needs to look like a teenager. She must BE
Eastern European; Romanian, Polish, Lithuanian etc. Probably thin and
vulnerable looking.
Still – Medium shot of her, drugged and slumped over back seat of taxi, an
older man is next her, touching her leg and looking threatening talking into
her ear.
Film – Its night time. In his mirror, a cab driver looks at his passengers.
A medium shot of older man and the girl, who looks drugged and slumped on
seat. A close up of old mans hand on leg, going up skirt, talking in her ear
looking threatening. The girl is flinching, trying to escape. Scene ends
with man paying driver and getting drugged girl out of cab and wide shot of
cab driving off.
PERPETRATOR: Man, aged 30 to 50. Caucasian, possibly Eastern Europe looking
too. Big build and physically imposing. Looks like he could be a doorman or
mafia type.

Nail Bar scenario
TRAFFICKED VICTIM: Girl, aged 18 to 30 years old. Ideally Vietnamese but perhaps
could be Cambodian, Thai or Filipino. Small framed, vulnerable looking.
STILL: Tight shot from above of hands. Framed by faces of Vietnamese girl &
customer, nail vanish colour selection, phone & keys on the nail salon
table.
FILM: Starts with wide shot of nail salon, girl giving manicure, tight face
shot of girl looking unhappy & scared, trying to communicate. The customer
is talking on phone, looking at tv in salon, not even giving eye contact,
cut away of music videos playing on big TV, focus on distractions in room
showing no one paying attention, then back to girl on nails.
PERPETRATOR: Woman, aged 35 to 50. Ideally Vietnamese but perhaps could be
Cambodian, Thai or Filipino. She has a hard, intimidating face.

Bins Out scenario
TRAFFICKED VICTIM: Girl, 18 to 30. North African/Middle Eastern appearance –
Libyan, Syrian, Sudanese etc. Very thin, almost emaciated.
STILL: Medium shot of woman looking very tired, putting rubbish in the bin
and taking some scrap bread out the rubbish, with tight 3/4 shot of her and
bin. She looks hungry and distressed.
PERPETRATOR: Woman, aged 30s to 50s. North African/Middle Eastern
appearance – Libyan, Syrian, Sudanese etc. She has a hard, intimidating
face.

Car Wash scenario
TRAFFICKED VICTIM: Guy, aged 30 to 40s. Eastern European appearance – Romanian or
Albanian ideally.
STILL: Tight shot of one hand holding a sponge cleaning the screen and the

eyes pleading for help. Window screen frames shot.
PERPETRATOR: Man, aged 40s to 50s. Eastern European appearance – Romanian or
Albanian ideally. He has a hard, intimidating face.
