A 51 YEAR old woman who has just won a modelling contract has said she wants to be an inspiration for others.

Stunning grandmother-of-one Kaye Reeves, of Ilminster, could not believe her ears when asked to join the books of a new national modelling agency for people over 40 – having never modelled before.

The agency ‘Greys’, which has been launched this week with former Vivienne Westwood muse Sara Stockbridge as ‘ambassador’, aims to fill a niche in the market for ‘silver foxes’.

And the hair and beauty professional has said that experiences with single parenthood, divorce, debt, and a brush with cancer in recent years has made the news all the happier.

Reeves, who runs Penhaligon’s beauty salon in Ilminster, had uploaded her photos to a film and tv extras site when she was ‘spotted’ and invited to attend a casting day.

She said: “When I was asked to come to London I was obviously excited but didn’t think it would come to anything. I just saw it as an opportunity to spend a nice day in London! After they saw me they seemed very positive, but there were lots and lots of other people there. Then a few days later I got the news that I was in!”

While her schedule is set to fill up rapidly as the agency gets underway, Reeves is still first and foremost a businesswoman and is currently helping to promote and run a new online company, that offers women of all sizes and age a chance to win free makeovers.
